Our Kindergarten class is the gateway to discovering their individual gifts in a playful, creative environment. Our program emphasizes reading readiness, with the understanding that good reading skills are the foundation for future learning.
Kindergarten often builds on a preschool foundation that allows “learning by fun,” with intentional exercises that teach while the child considers themselves to be playing. At TRCS, our instructors are well-skilled at helping your child grasp the necessary fundamentals of reading, writing and mathematics with joy. Whether it’s doing “gummy bear math” with tactile objects, or working on their Kindergarten journals, your child will go beyond rote learning.
Our Science program is extremely “hands-on,” allowing students to handle and observe living creatures and God’s creation.
At this level, students also begin using our school library and learning to check out books for personal use.
Our students participate in weekly chapel services. Bible curriculum is integrated into daily learning.
While quality education is expensive by nature, we work hard to keep our costs as low as possible. We encourage our school families to volunteer in classrooms, or around the campus as their giftedness allows.
At the Kindergarten level, children are just beginning to understand the opportunities for learning that the school experience affords them.
Specialty classes are also offered throughout the year and include:
- Physical Education
Our students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of additional extra-curricular activities for nominal fees:Resource Room (During the school day, additional individualized tutoring, 3 to 5 times a week for an additional fee.)
- Enrichment Classes (These after-school classes offer subjects from foreign languages to cooking classes in a fun, creative environment.)
- TRCS Music Conservatory (This program provides the opportunity for students to study instruments on campus at an individual level, either as a pull-out from the school day, or following school.)
